The Association of Communication Services Providers ACSP promotes the value of communication services providers in delivering competition to the communications market.

ACSP and its predecessor SPIG have been representing service providers since 1996. ACSP became a member group within the Federation of Communication Services in July 2004.

ACSP members provide communications services over telecommunications systems including:

  • Content
  • Data
  • Fixed telephony
  • Internet
  • Mobile
Mission
The ACSP is established to:
  • Secure a fair, open and competitive environment for the delivery of services within the UK communications market, which is supported by an effective regulatory regime; Work with Ofcom, the Government and other stakeholders; and
  • Promote the value of competition in services, which benefits consumers and contributes towards the establishment of a dynamic communications market in the UK.
ACSP objectives
In seeking to achieve the ACSP mission, the key objectives are to:
  • Ensure all communication services providers are able to access elemental network services at a fair and reasonable cost; Work with consumers and their representatives to enhance quality of service and develop codes of practice; and
  • Provide a forum for the exchange of non-competitive information.
Technical interfaces
The ACSP represents the service provider interests on the Network Interoperability Consultative Committee - NICC

  • Mobile Indepenent Resellers Group - MIRG

ACSP maintains links with other national and international service provider organisations.
